Inflammatory reactions in rainbow trout fins and gills exposed to biocides

چکیده
Several biocides are widely used in rainbow trout aquaculture against various ectoparasites and ectobionts, but the inflammation induced treated fish is less well described. Dose-response studies were conducted to elucidate effects on (gills fins) by a series of including formalin, hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O ), peracetic acid (PAA) surfactant SPH6, which was isolated from bacterium Pseudomonas H6. The compounds have documented antiparasitic effects, specific needs further documentation. This study performed over 24 h, inflammatory reactions evaluated gills fins. A dose-dependent effect noted for expression immune genes encoding IL-1?, TNF?, IFN?, IL-10, IL-8, lysozyme, serum amyloid (SAA), hepcidin, precerebellin complement factor C3. PAA strongest upregulation cytokine acute phase reactant followed H formalin. SPH6 showed lower effect, several cases compound downregulation genes. Gills stronger response compared mucous cell density fins range changes varied compound. PAA, lesser degree initially hyperplasia, whereas immediately decreased number cells containing mucus.

Cadmium inhibition of Ca2+ uptake in rainbow trout gills.
The effects of cadmium (Cd2+) on calcium (Ca2+) transport in the gills of rainbow trout (Salmo gairdneri) were studied. The gill epithelium of freshwater fish represents a model for a Ca2+-transporting tight epithelium. Unidirectional Ca2+ fluxes in the gills were estimated in an isolated saline-perfused head preparation. Ca2+ influx was not affected when up to 10 microM Cd were added to the ve...
متن کاملhistopathology of rainbow trout gills after exposure to copper
copper is a very common element in water resources. for this reason, concerns about the risks and consequences of this element in water contamination are arising. the purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of water-born cuo (copper (ii) oxide) on the rainbow trout, oncorhynchus mykiss gill tissue to establish a suitable biomarker for copper in water resources. samples with 18±3g b...
متن کاملPrimary Cultures of Epithelial Cells from Rainbow Trout Gills
A method for obtaining primary cultures of epithelial cells from rainbow trout gills is described. The yield of cells from approximately 1.5g wet mass of tissue was 2183106±123106 cells with a viability defined by eosin exclusion of 80±6%. Cells were seeded in culture dishes and grown in Leibowitz L-15 medium supplemented with 5 % foetal bovine serum. Attachment efficiency after 24h was 35±6%. ...
متن کاملCopper uptake across rainbow trout gills: mechanisms of apical entry.
Several components of branchial copper uptake were identified in juvenile freshwater rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) using (64)Cu. On the basis of competitive interactions between sodium and copper uptake, inhibition of copper uptake by a proton pump inhibitor (bafilomycin A1, 2 micromol l(-1)) and a Na(+) channel blocker (phenamil, 100 micromol l(-1)), it appears that a proportion of the b...
